Soft191 Renamer - Provides a fast way to rename multiple files at once - ideal for sorting out pictures or music files and giving them better, 'readable', names. Auto number files/folders. Remove, add and replace characters/words. Change the filename and extension, alter their case (upper, lower, title etc). Apply a list of text to use as filenames (for example, a written track list). Build your own unique filenames and/or extensions using templates. View a live preview of your alterations without any commitment. Undo last changes. Show/hide folders. Set ID3 information for MP3 files. Set file/folder attributes. Set file/folder date and time (created, last accessed, last written) (Windows NT only). Move files/folders up and down the list. Save profiles for different renaming locations/requirements. Live preview shows you the changes you make in real time, without actually renaming the files (this feature can be turned off, and you would have to click the "preview" button to see your changes). Once you're ready to rename everything, just click the "Apply" button and give the go ahead! If you are not happy with your changes, you can press the "Undo" button to restore the original filenames (this is session-based only, so you cannot 'undo' after you close and restart the program). Setting the date/time of files and folders is only available if you are using a Windows NT-based system (such as 2000, XP, 2003, Vista). Although the program allows you to modify ID3 tags, it is not a dedicated ID3 manager.
